Instructional Ideas

  1. As an independent learning experience, teachers can have students enroll in a class and view all the lessons. Next, students can create the “craft” they learned from the class. Finally, they can present it to their classmates. During and after the presentation, the student who made the craft can field questions from his/her classmates and summarize his/her experience of taking the class.
  2. After completing a class in this app, teachers can have students write a review of it using an Office app. The review can explain what they liked or did not like about the class, how the class can be improved, the type of craft(s) they made, and if the instructor’s teaching style was effective. After writing the review, students can share it by posting it to a class website. This way, fellow students will have some guidance when selecting classes.
  3. After becoming familiar with the format of these classes, teachers can have students use the TouchCast app to create a class that teaches how to create a craft or complete a task. Some ideas include teaching how to change a vehicle’s oil, fold a fitted sheet, or make the perfect mashed potatoes.
