Instructional Ideas
- Teachers can have students practice writing letters or words in print or cursive. As they complete this practice, teachers can make sweeps of the room to monitor students and provide additional instruction as needed.
- When working in small groups, teachers can have them open the “Whiteboard” feature in this app. Next, teachers can say a letter or word and have students write it in the whiteboard. Teachers can add a twist to this activity by instructing students to write the word or letter in cursive. When ready, teachers can advance students from writing on their device to paper and pencil.
- As a reward, teachers can have students use the “Coloring Book” option in this app. Students will color the image and then also label it. For example, when the airplane image appears, students can color it and also write the word “Airplane” below it. When they are finished, students can take a screenshot of the image and send it to their teacher. The teacher can print out the image and hang it on the classroom wall.
- Teachers can have all the students in the class open the “Whiteboard” feature in this app. Next, teachers can say a letter, and students will have to write a word that starts with that letter. As they write, teachers can make sweeps of the room and provide additional guidance as needed.
