Instructional Ideas

  1. Students can browse the gallery for a painting of interest. When they find one, they can search the painting using the All Search Engines in One HD They can then write a summary of the information they found that includes when the painting was created, who painted it, and common interpretations of the painting. Summaries can be posted to a class website or shared verbally.
  2. On the main page, users can view the different paintings in detail. They can then pick their favorite painting from the main page and write a 200-word synopsis that explains why they selected that painting. Students can then post their synopsis to a class website.
  3. Students can select a painting of interest from this app and attempt to recreate it using an artwork creation app, such as Drawing Desk. After working to recreate it, students can write a reflective journal where they explain the successes and challenges they had when trying to recreate the painting.
