Decibel 10th

Decibel 10^th monitors a room’s volume level using a decibel gauge. When Decibel 10^th is opened, it displays the current volume level of the room, the peak and max volume levels that it has recorded in the room, and a running graph of the room’s volume level. Decibel 10^th also includes a banner that likens the volume level of a room to other average volumes, such as a quiet home, loud singing, an automobile, and many others. Users are able to modify the sensitivity of the decibel gauge using the calibration settings found in the “i” menu, email themselves a copy of the recorded running graph, and reset the max and peak volumes recorded.

Classroom Applications

1. When teachers assign group work, they can open this app and instruct students to keep the volume level under a certain amount of decibels.
2. When students are taking a test, teachers can open this app to monitor the volume level. By increasing the sensitivity monitors, this app will help teachers identify if students are talking during the test.
3. When showing a video or having students present, teachers can use this app to ensure the appropriate volume level is maintained.
