Deck Slideshow Presentations allows users to create presentations directly from their mobile device. After launching the app, users must tap the “Create” button on the top right of the screen, and they will be presented with a blank outline of their presentation. Users must tap a slide on the outline to add text, import images from their device, customize preloaded charts and diagrams, and insert tables. When creating and adding features to their presentation, users are able to add, delete, and edit slides throughout the process. Additionally, they can tap the “Untitled” text on the top left of the screen to name their presentation. When ready to present, users must tap the “Present” or “Play” button on the top right, and the app will automatically load the presentation. Users can tap the “left” and “right” arrows on the bottom of the screen to navigate the presentation, and they can automate the slide transition by tapping the timer button on the bottom right.

Please Note: This app includes additional options that can be accessed by tapping the “?” on the home screen.

Instructional Ideas

  1. When having to make a speech, students can create a presentation using this app that serves as a visual aid.
  2. In addition to students completing a research assignment, teachers can require them to also create a presentation using this app. That way, when students share their research, they will have a formal presentation that coincides with it.
  3. After students create presentations using this app, they can share them in small groups. As they present, classmates can ask questions and offer ideas for improving the presentation. This format may help students practice making presentations in small groups before making larger presentations to an entire class.
