Easy Test Maker: A Go-To Resource for Assessment
Summary : Making Tests Online Has Never Been Easier!
Easy TestMaker provides teachers with a simple online tool for creating tests. To begin, teachers must register with the Easy Test Maker website and then log in. Next, they must click the “Create a New Test…” button and then enter the name of their test followed by the “Create Test” button. At this point, the website provides some directions for teachers about how to create a test. To begin entering questions from this screen, teachers must click the “+ Questions” button and then choose the question-type they wish to add. Once selected, the website provides teachers with a template for creating their question. Teachers are able to add questions individually and, when finished, clicked the “Return to Test” button to view the test.
When ready to share the test with students, teachers have to click the “Publish” button, choose the options for the test, and then click the “Publish” button again. At this point, teachers will need to copy the “Test Link” and then make it accessible to students by posting it to a class website or sending it to students via email. Before taking the test, students will need to enter their name along with the test Access Code. As students complete the test, teachers can view their results. To do so, teachers will need to click the “My Tests” option, click the name of the test, click the “Online” button, and then “Results” from the dropdown menu.
Please Note: The description provided above is based off of Easy Test Maker’s free plan. Additional options are available if teachers pay for a subscription.
Classroom Applications for Easy Testmaker
- Before an instructional unit, teachers can use this website to make a pre-test to gauge student knowledge about the unit’s topic before the first lesson. They can then have students complete a similar test after the unit and compare the results to measure students’ learning gains.
- As a mini-assessment, teachers can have students complete a quiz made using this website as a homework assignment.
- To add student voice to an assessment, teachers can have students write test questions as part of a review activity. Once the activity is complete, teachers can consider using those questions as part of the test made with this website.
- Opposed to a traditional paper-and-pencil test, teachers can use this website to create tests. By doing so, teachers will save time when grading.
