Instructional Ideas
- Teachers can have students recall facts learned from Farm Toonz to create an “All about Farm Animals” class book. To create the book, teachers can assign the different animals to individual students or to small groups. Students then draw pictures of the animals, and write sentences about them to be included in the book.
- Teachers can print off coloring pages from the Farm Toonz website for students to practice spelling animal names and drawing pictures associated with the facts that they learned about the animals.
- After using Farm Toonz, students can create “Where and What” style questions about the animals based on the settings where they saw them. Teachers can call on students individually to share their question(s) with the entire class, or teachers can have students write their question(s) on paper. In both scenarios, students should be encouraged to answer their classmates’ questions.
