Instructional Ideas
- Teachers can assign students a chapter to read from this app. After reading it, teachers can have students compose a summary of the chapter using the Quip, Office Offline, or WPS Office app. In the summary, students must explain: (1) Major concepts they learned, (2) The chapter’s three most important ideas, and (3) Any new vocabulary words they acquired. After students complete their summary, they can email it to their teacher for grading.
- After students read a chapter, teachers can require them to write three multiple-choice quiz questions using the Quip, Office Offline, or WPS Office app. Students can then email their teacher the quiz questions. Teachers can create the quiz using these questions, and the teacher can either select one question from each student to include on the quiz or choose the best 5, 10, or 15 questions submitted by students.
- Teachers can require students to complete all the activities included in this app independently. As students complete the activities, they can take a screenshot of their finished work, which they can email to their teacher for grading.
- While reading a chapter, teachers can have students pay attention for a topic of interest. Once a topic is found, teachers can have students further research it on the Internet. As part of that research, students will need to find background information regarding the topic, information that explains the topic in more detail, and additional images or videos that demonstrate or illustrate the topic. Students can collect those documents using the Pocket app. Finally, students will have to synthesize that information into a research project, and present their findings as a presentation using the Adobe Voice or PopBoardz app. They could also present their findings as a webpage using the Jimdo or Weebly app.
