Grade It!

Grade It! allows users to create grading tables. (A grading table is chart that has categories for the number of correct responses, the number of incorrect responses, and the applicable percent grade.) After launching the app, users must set the number of questions and select if they want percentages rounded to the whole number, first decimal point, or second decimal point. Next, users are to tap the “Generate Table” button, and Grade It! will produce a grading table that can be emailed. If users make an in-app purchase, they will be able to set specific grade ranges (e.g., A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, etc.).

Classroom Applications

1. Teachers can create a grading table to help them quickly calculate students’ grades from raw scores.
2. Teachers can email parents the grading table they will use to score an assignment or to determine letter grades for an entire class.
3. When beginning a new unit, teachers can have a conversation with their students about their expectations for specific grades. Teachers can create a grading table alone or they can create a grading table with their students to establish expectations before engaging the unit.
