Instructional Ideas
- When teachers are lecturing about a historical topic, they can use this app to show students when in history the event occurred and what other events were happening in history when the event occurred.
- Teachers can assign students a specific year for them to research. Next, students can use this app to view events that were happening during that year, and they can create a report for the year by preparing a presentation using PowerPoint or SlideIdea. In the presentation, students can devote a slide for each timeline layer, and each slide can include an image and bulleted list to explain the layer.
- After teaching a unit that directly aligns to a specific topic on the timeline, teachers can have students view what happens next on the timeline. Teachers can then require students to make predictions or connections between what happened and what happened next.
- After using this app and becoming familiar with it, teachers can build student knowledge about a topic not included in this app, and then have students create a timeline modeled after it. When students make their timeline, they can make it with multiple layers, including location, climate, and politics, among others.
