App Ed Review
Description: This lesson will help students develop a basic knowledge of our solar system. They will learn about the stars, constellations, the moon, other planets, their relation to each other, and the sun.
Instructional Objective: Students will read, watch, perform a hands-on activity, and discover information about the solar system, demonstrating their understanding by drawing a model of the solar system and writing 3 key facts they learned.
Step 1: Students will learn through a brief lecture and the Google Earth app about our planet and other celestial bodies. Students will locate stars, other planets, the sun, and the moon in the app. They will then explore the solar system to see what else they can find.
Step 2: Students will explore and learn facts about the Sun using the DIY Sun Science app. Students will complete one activity and watch one video from the app.
Step 3: Students to look for constellations and the moon using the app Star Chart. They will record their favorite constellation.
Step 4: Students will use the Paper app to draw a diagram of our solar system, planets, and their favorite constellation and write three facts they learned from the previous two apps. Students will then share their project with the class.
