izik search

izik is a search engine designed to assist users in exploring the Internet. With izik, users can input search terms into its search box, and izik will report its findings. However, what makes izik stand out from similar apps is that it does not simply list the content it finds. Rather, izik presents the content horizontally, and users must slide the content to scroll through it. Additionally, izik allows users to view their search results by categories that include: Quick Answer, Top Results, Latest, Images, Money, Music, and Lyrics, among others. When users do find something of interest that they wish to share, izik allows users to share it over email, on social media sites, and with other apps. Lastly, izik also keeps an updated list of trending search terms and recent searches for users.

Instructional Ideas

1. When assigned a research assignment, students can use this app to gather data, documents, and resources.
2. To compare and contrast different search engines, users can search Bing, Google, and izik using the same search term. Next, users can analyze the results of those searches, and discuss why the results reported to them by the different search engines are or are not similar.
3. As part of a persuasive-writing assignment, teachers can have students research a topic using Bing, Google, and izik. Next, students can compose a persuasive paper that explains why one of the search engines is superior to the others.
