After launching the app and viewing its tutorial, users are brought to the app’s main screen where they can explore the different options. Each option addresses anxiety in a different way. For example, the “Anxiety 101” feature presents users with some baseline information about anxiety. The “My Situations” feature lets users personalize their own anxiety-riddled experiences, and the app will support them working through those experiences. The “Check Yourself” feature lets users rate their current anxiety levels. The “Thinking Right” feature provides users with realistic thinking to help overcome anxiety that connects with the different, preloaded situations in the app. The “Chill Out Tools” feature includes multiple activities to help lower users’ anxiety levels. The “Active Steps” feature provides users with specific actions they can take to reduce their anxiety, and the “Inspiration” feature offers users famous quotes related to anxiety.

Instructional Ideas

  1. Teachers can take time before a test or major assessment and have their students use a “Chill Out Tool” to help center themselves before engaging the test or assessment.
  2. Teachers can have students use the “My Situations” and “Check Yourself” features to analyze their anxiety levels. Next, teachers can have students use an Office app to compose a reflective statement about their anxiety levels. This entry will serve as a baseline for establishing their anxiety level.
  3. Once students are aware of their anxiety’s roots, they can tap the “Active Steps” feature to learn about methods for reducing their stress. After trying out one or more of the methods, students can compose weekly journal entries where they “check-in” about their anxiety levels and discuss the effectiveness of the “Active Steps” they are taking.
  4. Students can view the “Inspiration” feature for famous quotes about overcoming anxiety. Students can then compose a journal entry where they explain what the quotes means to them and how they could apply it to their life.
