Description: This app lesson will develop kindergarten students’ math skills and increase their understanding of number sense and the relationship between numbers and quantity.
Instructional Objective: Students will practice writing numbers 1-10 and demonstrate their understanding with a short video demonstrating quantities.
Step 1: Students will practice tracing numbers 1-10 on the 123 Zoo: Writer FREE app.
Step 2: Students will practice counting numbers 1-10 on the Todo Math app. Here they will have to count how many of each item is on the screen and then draw the number that matches the item quantity.
Step 3: Students will further develop their understanding of numbers by manipulating monsters shaped as numbers on the Endless Numbers app. Here they will have recognize the number and how it relates to the rest of the numbers in the 1-10 sequence through basic adding and by placing the numbers in their correct order.
Step 4: Students will demonstrate their understanding of numbers by creating a number movie on the Draw and Tell app. They will draw the number and then place the correct amount of stickers next to the number in order to match the quantity that number represents. They will then record themselves reciting the number and describing the stickers they used to represent the number. They will do this for each number 1-10 and at the end will compile them all into one number movie.
