Summary : A Dependable Office App
In the free version of Office Offline, users are able to create Microsoft Word and Excel documents. To create a document, users must tap the “+” on the top right of the main screen, and select the type of document that they wish to create. To edit the document, users must double-tap the document, and then they will be able to add text. To access additional features, users must tap the “three dot” button in the top right of the screen. Once tapped, users will be able to save and share the document, search and replace text within the document, open the document in other apps, and more. To exit the document and return to the main screen, users must tap the “<” on the top left of the screen. On the main screen, users will be able to view, sort, and open the different documents they created.
Please note: Additional features, such as being able to create PowerPoint files and syncing to clouds, are available in the paid version.
Instructional Ideas
- Instead of having students compose paper-and-pencil documents, teachers can have students write papers, take notes, and create spreadsheets using this app.
- To monitor their grades, teachers can have students create a spreadsheet using this app. To do so, students will need to record the name of assignments and the grades they earned. Teachers can add to this activity by having students write weekly journal entries about their progress in the course based on the spreadsheet, and the journal can be housed in this app.
- This app can be used to submit homework. After completing a homework assignment, students can email it to their teacher using this app.
