Description: This app lesson will develop upper elementary school students’ knowledge of the solar system and space.
Instructional Objective: Students will learn about and explore the solar system before demonstrating their knowledge of it by creating a presentation.
Step 1: Students will develop their background knowledge related to the solar system and space using the Galaxies by KIDS DISCOVER app.
Step 2: Students will read about the solar system using the Reading Comprehension Solar System Free for 5th Grade app.
Step 3: Students will create a model of the solar system using the Haiku Deck app. Students can design a slide for each planet and additional slides for other objects or phenomena found in the solar system. When complete, students can present their work to their classmates.
