Periscope is a live streaming app from which users can broadcast content and comment in real time. Periscope integrates into users’ Twitter accounts. If users do not want to tweet out a link to their session, other Periscope users can find the session via the person’s Periscope account or via an interactive world map which shows Periscope users all the live and archived Periscope streams occurring around the world. Users can switch between the forward and front-facing cameras by swiping up on their screens while they broadcast content. Viewers can comment in real time and award hearts (likes) to streams. Upon completion of a stream, each full-length video is archived in users’ Periscope profile and camera roll for later viewing.
