Instructional Ideas

  1. Teachers can use Quickoffice to assign students work in which they must create a Word, PowerPoint, or Excel-styled document. Once work is completed, it can be emailed to the teacher from within the app.
  2. Teachers can have students store and organize their work using Quickoffice. To do so, the teacher should first demonstrate how to create and name a folder using Quickoffice, and following, how another folder can be made within the newly created folder. Finally, the teacher can show students how to import documents into Quickoffice and store them in the appropriate folders. As students progress through a semester, course, or class, the ability to file their electronic documents using Quickoffice will be helpful in keeping students and their work organized.
  3. Quickoffice can be used for a writing workshop. To do so, students must first compose a rough draft of a work in Quickoffice. Following, students can be instructed to swap their work with a classmate using this app’s email feature. Upon receiving their classmate’s file, they can open the document, read it, and make edits using the track changes feature, which will enable the originator to review suggested edits. After reviewing his or her classmate’s work, the student will need to save the edits into the document and email it back to the student who authored it. At that point, the student can review the suggested changes or send it off to another student for additional feedback.
