Instructional Ideas

  1. Teachers can have students review content in this app by choosing the content they wish to engage from the “Categories” menu on the home screen. Next, teachers can have students answer the questions independently or in small groups. For each question that students answer incorrectly, teachers can have students write down the question and answer so they can be reviewed at a later time.
  2. As a game-show activity, teachers can have students modify a set of questions using the “Create/Edit” option. For example, instead of state capitals, students can make the question be about city population, and they can list different cities. The students who are to answer the question must select the city with the largest population. Once all the questions have been modified, the students who modified the questions can be the game-show hosts and present their questions to the class. To do so, the teacher can divide the class into groups of three to five students, and the students who made the questions can connect their iPad to a projector. From there, they can begin the game!
  3. As part of a geography quiz, teachers can use the “Spelling” option in this app. To do so, teachers can connect their iPad to a projector, select the “US State Capitals” or “World Capitals” category, and the “Spelling” option. Next, teachers can show the students a capital from the “Spelling” quiz, and students will have to write down the capital’s state or country. Next, teachers can add a twist by having students write down a fact they learned about the state or country.
