Random Name Selector Pro

Random Name Selector Pro provides users with a method for calling on students fairly. After launching the app, it guides users in creating their first group. To create a group, users must tap the “Gear” button on the bottom of the screen, which takes them to a new screen. On it, users must tap the Groups “+” button on the left. To add students to the group, users must tap the Groups Members “+” button on the right. Once all names have been entered, users can select their theme and then tap the green “Play” button on the top right to begin calling on students. The app will then display the theme. Users call on students by tapping the blue “?” button on the bottom left of the app. When they do, a student’s name will appear. After all students have been called on once, the app will notify the user.

Classroom Applications

1. While facilitating a class discussion or review, teachers can use this app to call on students fairly and randomly.
2. When choosing students to read in a round-robin fashion, teachers can use this app to randomly select students. This method ensures that all students are engaged. If students are unsure of what part of the text they are to read after being called on by this app, teachers can subtract participation points.
3. When choosing a student for a reward, special task, or specific duty, teachers can use this app to select a student randomly.
