Roll Call – Attendance Made Simple allows teachers to quickly record student attendance and run attendance reports that can be shared easily. To use Roll Call, teachers must first create a profile by inputting their name and email address. Next, teachers must create a class by tapping the “Classes” button on the top left of the screen and touching the “+” button. Teachers will then type the name of their classroom in the provided space. Teachers then select the class and add students to it by tapping the “+” button on the top right of the screen. This action will launch a “New Student” screen in which teachers can individually input the name, email address, phone number, picture, birthday, allergies, medications, and additional notes about each student (not all this information needs to be entered). Once a class is created and students are added, teachers will see an attendance roster with an icon that represents each student they added. To take attendance, teachers click the “Today” button on the top left of the screen, set the date, and they can tap students’ icons to record them being present, absent, tardy unexcused, or absent unexcused. Plus, teachers can email students their attendance reports and additional correspondence by clicking their icon and selecting the mail option. Lastly, teachers can run attendance reports for a class by tapping the “Page” icon on the top right of the screen, and these reports can be shared over email or sent to other apps.
