Summary : Build your perfect rubric
Rubrics Evaluation lets teachers design custom-made rubrics for their classes (the “freemium” version allows teachers to create five rubrics with a maximum of 10 students before having to purchase the full version). Teachers are able to construct detailed rubrics for any assignment and use them to score student work. When scoring work, teachers are able to assign points and add specific comments to each dimension of the rubric. In the freemium version, teachers are able to email or print the assessment data; however, archiving the data requires purchase.
Please note: Effective use of this app will require teachers to become familiar with how to import/create students and classes, design and allocate rubrics to classes, and the different methods for reporting data.
Classroom Applications
- Teachers can use the Rubrics Evaluation app to keep parents informed about their child’s progress. After teachers grade student work, they can email or print individual student progress reports, which can then be distributed to the parents.
- When presenting an assignment to students, teachers can provide students with an overview of their expectations by showing them the assignment’s rubric and discussing its different evaluative dimensions.
- Teachers can use the Rubrics Evaluation app to replace traditional rubrics. Although there is a slight learning curve, this app has the potential to save teachers time in the long run, because they can easily reuse or modify a previously constructed rubric and can share completed evaluations in a much more timely fashion than could be done with traditional rubrics.
