StoryBoardThat allows users to create storyboards online. To do so, users must first click the “My Account” button on the top right and then either create an account or log into their existing account. Next, users can click the “Create a Storyboard” button on the menu that is located on the left of the screen. The website then gives users blank cells and a variety of scenes, characters, textables, shapes, and web & technology to upload. The scenes, characters, shapes, and web & technology options let users choose from a variety of options, and they can drag the option into a cell. Once in the cell, users can customize its color, size, and other features. The textable option lets users add dialog bubbles into the storyboard. Once in the storyboard, the website allows users to add text to them. The upload option allows users to choose an image saved to their computer and add it to their storyboard. Once users finish creating their storyboard, they can tap the “Save” button, title it, and describe it. At this point, users can continue to edit their storyboard, copy it, print it, download it as a PDF or PowerPoint, view it as a slideshow, or get the code to embed it in another project.
Please Note: Users are only able to create two storyboards per week for free.

- When reading the history of a topic, teachers can have students create a storyboard that functions as a timeline using this website. In each cell, students can add a topic, date, and a short summary of the topic’s significance. Students can email their final product to their teacher, and their teacher can hang the work in the classroom.
- When students complete an experiment, they can create a storyboard that captures each procedure of the experiment. When finished, students can present their storyboard to their classmates.
- As a creative writing project, teachers can have students create a storyboard using this website. Teachers can set specific criteria including the amount of cells, characters, colors, and text must be included. When finished, students can share their storyboard in small groups.
