Instructional Ideas
- Following concrete subitizing practice in the classroom, students can use Subitize Tree to reinforce skills and continue mastery.
- Teachers can use Subitize Tree to remediate students. To do so, the teacher can modify both the speed and number selections to reflect slower rates of speed and lower numbers sets (1–4, 1–7). As students’ skills increase, the teacher can increase the rate of speed and the number set.
- With the use of two iPads and Subitize Tree, students can engage in a friendly competition to see who can subitize faster. To do so, they will need to use the same speed and number selection.
