Instructional Ideas
- After studying an artist’s works, students can use this app to create a sketch modeled after the artist’s work.
- Teachers can have students use this app to practice their sketching techniques.
- After reading a text, teachers can have students sketch the text’s most important concept or idea.
- As part of an art class’s routine, teachers can designate a block of time for sketching. During this time, students are to use this app to sketch out an idea they had or an image they saw recently. Next, students are to put their sketches on display by leaving this app open on their iPads with the sketch showing. Then, students are to take a “Gallery Walk” around the classroom and view their classmates’ sketches. If teachers choose, they can have their students vote for the best sketch or have students write feedback on sticky notes about the sketches for their classmates. (If teachers choose the sticky-note option, encourage students to offer encouragement, praise, and constructive criticism.)
