TeacherKit

TeacherKit is a tool for tracking student attendance, behavior, and grades. When launched, TeacherKit greets teachers with a hallway screen, where they can create and title different classes. (These classes are symbolized as door icons on the main screen.) Teachers can then populate their classroom by importing student roster information from Dropbox and/or iTunes, or they can manually enter it. Once a class is created and populated, teachers can take attendance, add assignments and lessons, and record grades. Plus, they can email students and parents. For a fee, TeacherKit can be upgraded so it runs student reports, class reports, grade book reports, and seating chart reports. Teachers can also enable the password function, modeled after the iPad and iPhone number code security system, to keep student information confidential.

Classroom Applications

1. Teachers can take attendance in the beginning of class with this app instead of with a paper and pencil. To ensure that they have a backup, teachers can export and back up their information periodically via email, printing, or Dropbox.
2. Teachers can track and compile students’ behavior into reports for parents and administrators. This information can be informative during a parent-teacher conference or on Open House night.
3. If students are completing an in-class assignment, teachers can walk around the room with this app’s grade book open and assign students participation points.
