The Answer Pad lets teacher users create answer keys on its website (www.theanswerpad.com) that student users can access from the app. Before launching this app, both teacher and student users need to visit its website to register and activate their accounts. Next, they are able to sign into their accounts on the app, which requires them to enter either a “connect code” or a group name, username, and password. Once signed in, student users must enter in a “Test Code” to access a test, and the test codes are located in the website. When teacher users are building content, they must tap the “Class Icon” on the website to create groups and add students to them. To create answer keys, teacher users must click the “Books” button on the website and then the “Create” button. Teacher users can then build their answer keys using different question types (e.g., Multiple Choice, Coordinate Grid, Shade-in, Fill-in, Numberwheel, and Essay) and align them to academic standards. For each answer key created, The Answer Pad provides a “code” that student users must enter once they are signed into the app. That way, as student users complete the test, teacher users can monitor their progress from the website.

Please Note: Only a limited amount of features can be accessed for free. Users will need to subscribe to The Answer Pad to access all of its features.

Classroom Applications

  1. After teaching a lesson or unit, teachers can load an assessment in this app for students to complete. As students complete the assessment, teachers can record their grade drawing from the analytic features in this app.
  2. Before teaching a unit, teachers can have students complete a quiz as a pre-assessment. Teachers can then analyze students’ responses and use that data to inform their instruction.
  3. For homework, teachers can create a quiz using The Answer Pad and require students complete it for class.
  4. As a review, teachers can have students create problems with answers to be included on a quiz. Students can then email their problems to the teacher, and the teacher can use the problems when creating a quiz.
