Instructional Ideas
- Teachers can track students’ scores as they play this app throughout the year as a competition-based motivational tool.
- Students can challenge each other to create their own word boards modeled after this app. With their created boards, a student can swap boards with a classmate and search for words on the classmate’s board. When finished, students can re-exchange boards and students can then “score” the other student’s effort based on amount of words found or length of words found.
- After playing a game, teachers can require students to choose the “see words” option that shows all the words in the puzzle. Teachers can then require students to pick one to three words that they do not know and produce a Frayer Word Box for each word. Or, teachers can require students to pick one to three words to add to the classroom word wall.
- Students can use this app to independently practice their spelling.
- Teachers can use this app as a behavioral incentive for students to use upon completion of classroom assignments.
