ZipGrade—Grade Paper Tests and Exit Tickets

ZipGrade is designed to assist users with grading multiple-choice quizzes. To begin, users must choose to create an account or continue without creating an account. Next, users can create a class, add students, or begin grading quizzes. To create a class, users must tap the “Classes” button on the bottom of the screen, and then tap the “New” button on the top right of the next screen. Here, they will be able to add a new class name. To add students, users must tap the “Students” button on the bottom of the screen, and then tap the “New” button on the top right of the next screen. Here, they will be able to add students and enroll them in an already-created class. To grade papers with ZipGrade, users must tap the “Quizzes” button on the bottom of the screen and then tap the “Create New Quiz” button. Next, users must select the 20-, 50-, or 100-question answer sheet. On the next screen, users can tap the “Edit Key” button to enter in their answer key. At this point, users should visit https://www.zipgrade.com/forms/ to download the corresponding answer sheet and have students use them to record their responses to questions. To grade student work, users must tap the “Scan Papers” option. When scanning answer sheets, users need to ensure that their iPad’s camera and answer sheet are correctly lined up. After all answer sheets are scanned, users can see the results by tapping the “Review Papers” and/or “Item Analysis” options, which are available under the “Quizzes” option.

Classroom Applications

1. Teachers can use this app to quickly grade multiple-choice answer sheets, which may save them time and money. Teachers will be able to take answer sheets home to grade or grade right in their classroom. They will not have to wait to use a Scantron machine.
2. This app can help teachers organize their students and classes.
3. After students complete an assessment, teachers will be able to grade their answers rapidly and immediately using this app. That way, teachers can have students rework/rethink any question they answered incorrectly.
