Description: This app lesson will develop students’ understanding of the environment and require them to cite evidence correctly.
Instructional Objective: Students will perform research on endangered species and create graphs to illustrate statistical information on population and habitat decline.
Step 1: Students will pick an endangered species from the WWF Together app and learn about the species’ history, environment, threats, and more.
Step 2: Students will conduct additional research on the species selected and save web links, articles, videos, tweets from environmental protection organizations, images, and more in the Pocket app.
Step 3: Students will create a bibliography of all their research using the EasyBib app and email it to the teacher.
Step 4: Students will create engaging charts using the statistics found in their research on their endangered species using Chartcube. Student charts will include population numbers, statistics on the species’ decline, and the degradation of their species’ environment. Students will share their findings with their classmates as a call to action.
