Description: This app lesson will enrich student knowledge and understanding on importance events that molded the United States to what it is today.
Instructional Objective: Students will be able to describe and identify key events and people that contributed to the beginning of the United States.
Step 1: Students will analyze the events of the American Revolution on the American Revolution Interactive Timeline for iPad app. They will be able to memorize the chronological order of the events and study important artifacts, such as documents or weapons used.
Step 2: Students will use the Drawing Desk app to compare and contrast the Loyalists and the Patriots. They will select the Sketch Desk option and draw a T-chart to compare characteristics such as which army the group fought for and who they were led by.
Step 3: Students will be split into groups and will be assigned a topic (Stamp Act, Boston Tea Party, etc.) They will use the My Newspaper app and create their own newspaper article from the perspective of a regular townsperson. They will also include a personal opinion at the bottom detailing how a regular townsperson would react to this topic.
