Problem Statement: Is kicking with the inside, outside, or the top of the foot more accurate for hitting a target from 15 yards?
Students write a hypothesis.
Step 1: Students will get into groups and practice kicking a ball and striking a target on a wall from 20 yards away. The groups will be formed by typing students’ names into the Team Shake app.
Step 2: Students will test their hypothesis and break down recordings of their kicking motions noting which approach was more accurate as a group for hitting the target. Students will reflect on their kicking motion, accuracy, and power using the Coach’s Eye Video Analysis app.
Step 3: Groups will choose either the top of the foot or the inside of the foot and compete against the other groups for specified amount of time with their chosen strategy. Striking tallies kept on the scoreboard of the Giant Scoreboard app.
Students will affirm their hypothesis or revise it and begin the cycle again.
