Problem Statement: Where am I?
Students write a hypothesis.
Step 1: Students will use the MAPS.ME app to locate their community, state, nation, and continent on a map. This will help students become familiar with their surroundings. It is crucial for students to know where they live in location to other communities, cities, and states.
Step 2: Students will use the Oh, Ranger! ParkFinder app to discover parks in their local community. Students will pick different activities in the app to do in the parks. This will allow students to become more familiar with the geographic features and parks in their communities.
Step 3: Students will use Evernote to write a summary of what they learned about their community and its geographic location. They will then share that document with the teacher. This is so the teacher knows that they actually used the apps and followed the instructions.
Students will affirm their hypothesis or revise it and begin the cycle again.
